About
AwarenessDay
Awareness Day
Held annually on 20 October
International Mastocytosis & Mast Cell Diseases Awareness Day raises awareness about a family of diseases that range from life-threatening to more benign forms.
The day raises awareness of the need for more accurate diagnostics, better treatments, increased research investment, and stronger community support. It’s also a time to share hope and knowledge, lifting up mast cell patients and families around the world.
Established in 2018 through the collaboration of 24 patient advocacy groups, the Awareness Day has since grown into a truly global movement, supported by organisations across dozens of countries.
The first one was commemorated in 2018. It represents the one day in the year to direct attention to these rare diseases.
Together, we dedicate this day each year to amplifying the voices of people living with mast cell diseases and to highlighting the importance of research, education and understanding.
Working alongside the medical community, our shared purpose is to create change through awareness, research, improved treatments, education and understanding.
We invite everybody to join and support this international effort. Together we can make a difference.
Join us on 20 October to raise awareness and support research. This year, our theme is “Be informed, be connected“ – because knowledge empowers, and together, we create change.
