What are mast cells

20 October annually

The  International Mastocytosis & Mast Cell Diseases Awareness Day aims to spread the word about a family of diseases that range from life-threatening forms to more benign forms. It aims to raise awareness for the need for more accurate diagnostics, better treatments, further investments in research… A day that will lift up the hopes of mast cell patients all over the world in dreaming for a brighter future.

This awareness day has been the result of a collaborative decision made by 24 mast cell disease advocacy groups. The first one was commemorated in 2018. It represents the one day in the year to direct attention to these rare diseases. A day that will bring mast cell organizations together to highlight the impact of the diseases in patients’ lives and the importance of research and education in the acceptance of diversity.

Working in unison with the medical community, our purpose is to create CHANGE through research, improved treatments, education and understanding.

We encourage everybody to join and support us in the commemoration of this day, together we can make a difference.
